Bridging the gap between academia and industry: The Tandemlaunch deep tech start up foundry model

Dubravko Culibrk is the Senior Scientist a Tandemlaunch Inc., a unique start up foundry based in Montreal, Canda,a Professor of Information and Communication Systems at the University of Novi Sad, Serbia and the director of the Industry/University Center for Collaborative Research of the Faculty of Technical Sciences, Novi Sad. His research interests are in the domain of computer vision, machine learning, knowledge discovery and artificial intelligence, favoring biologically inspired approaches, neural networks and, more recently, deep learning. He has spent two years as a research fellow in the Multimedia and Human Understanding Group of the University of Trento, Italy.
A serial entrepreneur, he has co-founded two companies and is passionate about bringing university-generated inventions to market.

Prof. Culibrk received his B.Eng.degree in Electrical Engineering and an M.Sc.degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Novi Sad, Serbia, in 2000 and 2003, respectively, as well as a Ph.D. degree in computer engineering from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, USA, in 2006.
